The Artist Within.........

In downtown Muncie, Indiana there is a place I LOOOVVVVEEEE to go. 

 It's The Artist Within.

It's a studio where local artist's can show off their talent and also where non-artists (like moi) can paint pottery.

You can select from all kinds of ceramic pieces.................

This visit I selected a couple spoon rests.

And did a monogram to match the burner covers I did last year.

(beginning stage of creativity)

Then I decided to paint a plate with my awesome cats, Gunnar and Grayson.

I only WISH I was that creative and now you see I copied was inspired by a piece in one of their idea books.

After the paint dries, the pottery is glazed and baked in the kiln for three days.

And here is my Cat Plate. 

I must say that I am thrilled on how it turned out as I usually can't draw anything.

This was actually the third time I visited The Artist Within and painted pottery.

Another time I did this teapot and cup.

And when I get to the bottom of my cup of herbal tea..............

It's empty...........M Tea.......for Mandy's tea.........get it?

I'm already thinking about what I will paint next.

Vintage Eyewear Love

with the awesome gilded fabric cover?

I could hardly stand it when one of the optometrist's that I work for was 'cleaning' out at home

 and brought these in the office...................

Butterflies....... and I don't even know what to call this........

This attachment butterfly thingy that is purely

 decorative on the temple!

And, of course, a pretty case with butterflies to match.

Now just when you think you have seen everything..................

Grecian Goddess Glasses!

These temples have Goddess wings..........

Perfect for holding ones hair in place while driving your 1950 pink Cadillac.

This one is actually my favorite.

Pink rhinestone, pearls, and flowers decorate this thingy attached to the temple.  This is only on the left side so it must be for those 1950's assymetric hair-dos...........or meant to be seen just from the drivers side of that pink caddy.

Thes other side isn't so plain either.

I've searched for three nights on the internet and can't find any frames with these thingys on the side.  Anyone know what they might be called?  I've been an optician for 24 years and have never, ever seen anything like these.....even in the movies.

I would love to wear this one as sunglasses.......
